Project overview:
This fundraising letter is a heartfelt appeal to help homeless youth between the ages of 16 and 24, who are served by Youth Without Shelter (YWS). The letter is addressed directly to parents as they are more likely to feel a deep sense of empathy for vulnerable youth. The letter includes a true, touching story about a homeless girl named Marianne, along with powerful facts and statistics about how YWS helps homeless youth. The letter is designed to create a personalized connection with the reader, and it encourages them to take action by donating to YWS's "Adopt-A-Bed Monthly Giving" program. The overall tone i chose to go with is compassionate and motivating, and the overall goal of the letter is to invite readers to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth through the call to actions included within it.
